THE TWINKLING STAR

A PRETTY PICTURE I TOOK OF THE KLCC TWIN TOWERS!

Twinkle twinkle little star
Please continue to shine
As brightly as you are
Oh poor lonely star,
The night sky writes your memoir
Flowery words and twisted lines
All trying to hide the signs
Cries for help and a desperate plea
She said all she wanted was to be free
Oh how I wonder
Who was she to deny that life?
The life she had so easily
Shining, glowing and sparkling
Glittering and glimmering
Was that really a suffering?
I see you every night
Up above the sky so high
Twinkling and gleaming
I thought I saw you beaming
But clearly I was mistaken
Your distress I have forsaken
You wanted no aid
I was gullible and too easily swayed
‘She seeks attention’ I once thought
Attention is what she seeks
Attention is what she so desperately needs
Had I known your heart’s true desires
Maybe I could have played a part
Stopped you from jumping into the fire
But with you now gone,
I grief and regret
So with that,
To the little star in the sky I see
How I wonder how you are
Up above the world so high
Smiling down
Resting peacefully
Like a diamond in the sky
Twinkle twinkle little star
Continue to twinkle wide and far
May the everlasting night heal your scars
Cheers to you,
My little star

Heyyy!!! So yea, here's another poem I randomly wrote in class one day! At first, I used this prompt to write a short 500 word story for creative writing club but ended up turning this into a poem because i felt that it suited the theme more! So here's my poem inspired by the beloved nursery rhyme "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"!

That's it from me today! Thank you for reading! I hope y'all enjoyed my poem and I hope to write soon! <3

XOXO ANNABEL
